Aïta Mon Amour is the duo composed of Widad Mjama and Khalil EPI. This project is the result of Widad's fascination with the ancestral Moroccan art of Aïta, a musical genre rooted in the Moroccan countryside, sung by the Cheikhats.
This contemporary and electronic musical project explores this rich tradition. Aïta Mon Amour celebrates and celebrates this oral art to build bridges between the past and the present, deconstruct the perceptions that define gender and make it resonate in the contemporary and digital age.
With Abda, their very first album, Aïta Mon Amour pushes the boundaries of Moroccan music and revisits this heritage with a daring approach. Inspired by the region of Abda, the historic cradle of Aïta, this 9-track opus embodies a harmonious balance between respect for traditions and the quest for modernity.
In recent months, this project has met with great success on the Moroccan and international scenes. It will be presented exclusively at Jazzablanca in a unique version, with special guests and additional musicians.
